End of a stage
and a road crossing...
Robbie Gordon overtaking us at well over 100km/hr. Can you see the vehicle heading towards him? You can just make it out, near his right hand mirror.
Oh there it is....that was close!
Nothing but barren ground till you find a valley
Some fast flowing rivers provide water for crops such as Maize, Cotton and rice.
Such a contrast to the endless dirt and sand we have been looking at for the past 2000km
Snow capped mountain.
Looking down to the road into the bivouac
The bivouac is starting to fill up. Around 3000 people camp each night.
You don't see scenes like this in Australia
Sand, river and ocean
Nasca (Nazca) Lines...google it, you will be amazed!
Souvenirs
Just a small sample of the Nasca lines.
These are thought to be thousands of years old.
Unfortunately they built a road right through the middle of it in the 60's. The lines were not noticed till air craft flew over.
Pet rock anyone?
Sightseeing in Lima on our last day.

Getting close to the changing of the guards.
Do you feel lucky?
